Carl Sandburg Middle School Mission Statement:

CSMS Tigers are:

Committed To Success, Prepared for a Future of Possibilities

Carl Sandburg Middle School strives to prepare students for a changing world. We are committed to:

  • creating collaborative learning environments
  • supporting students and teachers in implementing transformative uses of technology
  • enhancing student engagement
  • promoting the development of self-directed, responsible life-long learners
  • transitioning students from being passive users of technology to being critical consumers of information, creative producers of knowledge, and responsible digital citizens

District 75 believes technology enhances the education of students by changing the role of teachers from being the sole director of learning to partnering with students and facilitating the learning process. To do this, it is the goal of our 1:1 program to provide universal, ubiquitous access for all students at Carl Sandburg Middle School. This ensures students have access to online instructional materials and tools to further their understanding of content. In addition, District 75 is implementing the 1:1 Chromebook initiative, meaning that every student will receive a Chromebook, to further personalize the way each student uses time, receives support to master essential skills, deepens understanding of content, and ability to share their new knowledge in unique ways.
