Catching a few extra Z’s on the weekend has not been an option for many children in Mundelein School District #75 who have been participating in the enrichment program named SATURDAY STEAMers. Motivating the kids to eagerly get out of bed and brave the winter weather has been their excitement to participate in classes, like: K’NEX Construction, Journey to the Center of a Seed, Break Out! Escape Room, Musical Food, and more! Fifth grade Mechanics Grove student Lauren Gibbons who has been attending the program says that she “enjoys getting up early to take the classes with her friends,” and that, “learning about materials, their uses, making things, and seeing the final end results is very exciting for her!”

Inviting all pizza lovers to join us for the 2nd Annual Mundelein Pizza Throwdown at Carl Sandburg Middle School on March 15, 2018 from 5:30PM-7:30PM. We’ll be tasting pizza from over eight different pizzerias and voting for the best pizza, crust, and sauce in all of Mundelein. CSMS Tiger Students Participate in PARCC Testing March 6 - 16

As spring appears so does required state PARCC Testing. All 6th - 8th grade students will be participating in the PARCC Assessments starting Tuesday, March 6 - Friday, March 16. Students will test in English language arts on March 6, 7, 8, & 12 as well as, mathematics on March 13, 14, & 15. Please make sure your child brings headphones to school, gets 8 hours of sleep, eats a healthy breakfast and gets to school on time. Except for the headphones, these routines have been practiced all year long!

Congratulations Cyber Patriots!

District 75’s Cyber Patriot team, composed of students from Carl Sandburg Middle School, placed first and third in the state of Illinois during their first year of competition! Led by parent Bill Jarrett, the team participated in several competitions with students from all over the state and nation throughout the season.

Congratulations to the cast and crew for Beauty and the Beast Junior!

What a huge success! Thank you to all of our students for your hard work the past 4 months! Thank you also to our parents, volunteers, teachers, school organizations, admin and community members for supporting such a wonderful endeavor. Whether you donated money to purchasing professional microphones, donated a basket or fog machine or donated time to help put on makeup and curl hair, your efforts are not unnoticed. Such a huge part of this success is the magic that happens behind the scenes. My sincerest thanks for your involvement. Thank you for being a part of District 75 history! Congratulations again!

Students in District 75 schools celebrated World Read Aloud Day on February 1 by engaging with authors/illustrators via a live video chat. Thirty-three authors and illustrators spanning all genres and reading levels participated in free 20-minute sessions. Every student in grades Kindergarten - eighth grade had the opportunity to interact with an author during this special event.

School Closed 2/9/2018

District 75 Lincoln, Washington, Mechanics Grove, and Carl Sandburg will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 9. The musical Beauty and the Beast will still open Friday evening. The make up day for this snow day will be May 24, 2018.
